This Sunday, April 1st at 12 noon - WIT AC / WAC 5k

Sunday next is the WIT AC/WAC 5k race at WIT Sports campus at carraiganore starting at 12 noon. 10 euro advance entry onhttp://www.runireland.com/events/wit-ac-5k-road-race or 12 euro on the day.

Starting and finishing at the WIT Sports campus at Carraiganore the race is open to all standards including joggers and walkers. This is a similar route to the 6K route from last year but the big hill on the first lap has been taken out! Fast times expected so.

WAC at the Masters Roads

Well done to the WAC masters who put in some great performances at the Munster roads in Butlerstown. In the ladies Mags Kirwan was 3rd overall and first over 45, Sylvia Malone was 2nd over 35, Diane Behan was 2nd over 40 and Cait Caufield was 3rd over 40. In the over 45 wac had a clean sweep with Mags 1st, Liz Nolan 2nd and Gabriel Blair 3rd. Wac also won the club gold and waterford won the county... gold.

Not to be outdone by their female teammates the WAC men who were out in force put in some great performances. Leading them home was the club captain Frank Quinlan who took the over 35 title. In the over 40 WAC won the bronze for the club team and Waterford won the silver for the county team. Waterford were also the bronze medalists for the county team in the over 50's.

Thanks to everyone who helped out with todays event........ whether helping stewarding, marking the course, arranging cones, doing the entries, organising the refreshments, looking after the clock or cheering on the athletes.......... its all appreciated. These events don't just happen so thanks to Pauline Lambe, Claire Grant, Brendan Reidy, Anne Dunford, John McDonald, Brian Swaby, Eoin Dullea, Deirdre Chapman, Tanya Grant and Michael Burke as well as Derek, Frank and Tom and of course Fintan on MC (and good with the jokes as always...particularly liked the one to keep your cribs for Christmas) all of whom helped make today a success for Waterford AC.

Mallow 10 mile - March 19th

Well done to all the Club Members who ran today in the Mallow 10 mile.

David Cunningham (59 27) and Finley Weir (59 33) made it under the hour with great runs also from Pat Grant, Brendan Aspel, Con Kelleher, Bendan Reidy and Derek Grant who all finished well up the field. Many others from the club posted good times and PB performances and great to see so many WAC singlets throughout a great race of 1088 finishers.

Munster Roads WAC Teams

Munster masters road race championship is coming up on march 25th here in waterford. It is 2 loops of the 2 mile loop at Butlerstown GAA on the Cork Road, beside the Holy Cross pub. Come along and support your fellow members and help WAC defend the title of Best Masters Club for Roads and Cross Country which we won in 2011.

Hellweek PT

A little taster of what Hellweek was all about. Physical, mental, cold and very wet 4 hour challenge!!! Great day out and we all survived. Well done Emma Brent, Kate Nolan, Tom O'Brien, Mary Burke, Deirdre Chapman and the the number will all be hearing in our sleep, number 17.......Michael Burke. A marathon will seem easy now!!!!
