Dungarvan 10K

On a beautiful day in Dungarvan Waterford AC were very well represented in the WWAC 10K. This race was the last in the Michael Roche Carpets spring series and Sylvia Malone was the overall ladies winner.

Pictured with Sylvia is the mens winning team of Brian Swaby, David Cunningham and Kevin Malone. Also, Diane Behan won the O40 prize and John Dalton won the O45.

Also, included were Pat Nolan (on a tempo run having giving it the full hit at the Tramore Duathlon yesterday) and Peter Murphy who also did the duathlon yesterday. Deirdre Chapman is pictured with great friends of the club Adele Walsh and Tara Swaby who were all very happy with their runs.

Well done to all our members who competed in the Duathlon in Tramore yesterday also.

Weekend Activities

Well done all who made the journey to the Munster Cross Country Championships on Sunday and in very tough conditions good performances were had by all. Claire Grant and Richard Lucas competed inn the Junior events and in the senior men race Brian Swaby lead home the men's team with a very respectable 18th place and together with Jim Baldwin, Dave Drohan, Finley weir and Derek Grant the team just missed out on a medal by finishing 4th.

On the same day in London Tom O'Brien competing in the British Masters Indoor Pentathlon won Silver and recorded a new Irish record of 2893 points. The events were 60m Hurdles, Long Jump, Shot Putt, High Jump and 1000m. Any members interested in getting involved in Masters Track & Field should contact Derek Grant, Jacinta Power or Tom as we will be starting Saturday introductory sessions again this year (starting in March).
